Sept 3, 2003 RRT Commissions CRT Recycling System for CRA
RRT Design & Construction has completed the installation of its new CRT recycling system for Computer Recyclers of America.  This highly effective system is unique in its ability to process whole CRT, VDT and TV tubes into separate glass and metal products.

Feb 7, 2003 CTC Demonstrates RRT’s Automated Plastics Separation System for Electronic Scrap
RRT Design & Construction recently completed the installation of an innovative electronic plastics recycling system for Concurrent Technologies Corporation’s (CTC) DEER2 project. This highly effective system is designed to accept post-industrial and commercial plastics, principally electronic equipment casings for automatic resin separation.

Jan 24, 2003 Renovation Work Starts at Two Transfer Stations
RRT Design & Construction has completed the design phase of two transfer station expansion/upgrade projects for Waste Management of Pennsylvania (WM). WM's continued growth and commitment to quality services prompted the modernization and reconstruction of various infrastructure facilities at the Indian Valley Transfer Station (Telford, PA) and Beach Lake Transfer Station (Beach Lake, PA). These facilities handle 900 tons per day and 300 tons per day respectively. Construction has commenced and the renovation program anticipates completion by mid-2003.

 

Dec. 12, 2002 City of Guelph Awards RRT MRF Upgrade Project
RRT Design & Construction has been awarded a contract to provide the full engineering, procurement and construction services for major modifications to the City of Guelph’s Material Recovery Facility (MRF). This highly automated facility will be upgraded to single-stream technology, featuring processing lines for commingled containers, residential mixed paper and a system for processing commercial paper.

Nov. 7, 2002 RRT Commissions E-Vantage Separator SystemTM for Gold Circuit, Inc.

RRT Enters into Strategic Alliance with RCM

RRT Design & Construction and Renewable Carbon Management, LLC (RCM) of Saint Cloud, Minnesota entered into a strategic alliance to add composting professional services to RRT’s solid waste management and recycling resource recovery capabilities. Through this agreement, Jim McNelly, President of RCM and founder of the US Composting Council, has also become an associate of RRT, providing representation in the upper Midwest.

ASME Division Appoints RRT President to Executive Committee

RRT Design & Construction is pleased to announce that Nathiel Egosi, P.E., President of RRT, has recently been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Solid Waste Processing Division (SWPD) of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).  The SWPD is one of the newer divisions of the ASME and yet is one of the most active divisions within the organization.  The SWPD division started in 1961 with the objective to collect, correlate and disseminate accurate information on all aspects of the solid waste processing industry.

RRT Teams with Aurora to Provide a New Innovative Electronic Scrap Processing System

RRT Design & Construction has been awarded by Aurora Project, Inc., a contract to provide a turnkey system for processing electronic scrap plastic.  Aurora Project, Inc. is a non-profit organization established by the collaborative efforts of Broome County's (NY) Partnership 2000, IBM Endicott, and other community businesses, economic developers and scholars.  RRT's innovative, high performance processing system is designed to accept post-industrial scrap plastics, principally computer components, at a rate of 15,000,000 pounds per year.

RRT to Provide Palm Beach County, FL a Yard Waste Processing System and a Compost Screening System
RRT Design & Construction and the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County (SWA) have purchased a 120,000 ton per year yard waste processing system from Continental Biomass Industries, Inc. and a 75,000 ton per year compost screening system from Aggregates Equipment Inc.  The yard waste system will produce the wood chip amendment for the SWA operated wastewater treatment sludge composting process.

Modernizing New Jersey's Burlington County Recycling Program

Boulder County Engages RRT to Design & Construct New MRF
RRT Design & Construction has been selected by the Boulder, CO., County Recycling and Composting Authority to design a new materials recovery facility (MRF).  The new facility is expected to process 75,000 tons per year to handle the county's recycling needs until 2020, and will have processing lines for commingled containers, residential mixed paper and commercial paper.

RRT to Provide Design/Build Services for Middletown NY MRF
RRT Design & Construction will provide engineering and construction services for the materials recovery and feedstock preparation facility at the Orange recycling and ethanol production facility, to be build in Middletown, NY, beginning in the third quarter.  The materials recovery facility will help reclaim metals and plastics from about 1000 tons per day of municipal solid waste.  The remaining waste will be prepared as a quality feedstock for ethanol production.

Lexington, Kentucky Hires RRT for Collection System and MRF Process Upgrades
RRT Design & Construction will conduct an in-depth recycling program assessment for the City of Lexington, KY's MRF.  The project's goal will be to upgrade the City's recyclables collection program and the MRF's processing systems.  The current City program requires residents to perform five sorts, using specially designed containers with compartments.  The new collection scheme will be to have two-steam collection to the MRF, with the goal of overall increased tonnages.

RRT Upgrades Waste Management's Chicago Sort Centers
RRT Design & Construction has won multiple contracts from Waste Management Inc. for extensive design and build services at the Chicago Sort Centers.  RRT will design and retrofit each plant to automate the enhanced recovery of ferrous, aluminum and organics.  RRT will perform the work without any plant shutdowns or interruption of recycling services to Chicago.

Phoenix Recycling Plant Completed
RRT Design & Construction has finished construction of a new $10 million material recovery facility for the City of Phoenix.  The plant features dual processing lines for the commercial waste stream as well as a 320-ton-per-day processing line for Phoenix's single-stream curbside collection program.  Incoming materials are separated into 17 market commodities with less than 5 percent residue remaining.  RRT staffed and managed the recycling facility for three months, demonstrating the systems' computerized controls and mechanical efficiencies.

RRT Repairs Cobb County Compost Facility
RRT Design & Construction is working to repair the Cobb County, GA, MSW Composting Facility, which has been down almost two years due to fire damage.  RRT has provided a replacement waste pre-processing/ sorting system and an upgraded system to automatically feed MSW to five Bedminster digestors.  RRT has also added equipment downstream to handle non-compostables, recover ferrous metals, and automatically load rejected waste for off-site landfilling.
